New BOD member brings unique blend of market relevance, business growth expertise, and executive leadership experience to Octo.
June 22, 2021, Reston, Va. – Octo is pleased to announce the addition of Val Lyons to its Board of Directors. Lyons is a highly regarded business leader, having held executive leadership roles in a variety of successful consulting, technology, and outsourcing firms. In these roles, Lyons created innovative sales and marketing strategies, as well as provided the leadership to establish organizations that achieved new growth, entered new markets, and greatly improved performance in existing ones.
The scope of Lyons’ market experience includes both multi-billion-dollar organizations and small startups. She has provided leadership at high performing companies such as CACI International, EDS, Identix Biometrics, Cap Gemini Global Consulting, and the inception of Ernst and Young Federal Practice. Lyons has set and led execution strategies that enabled logarithmic growth in several previous green field sectors. She has proven hands on experience and demonstrated business results in the areas of technology, cybersecurity, digital transformation, business transformation, and change management, as well as experience working to provide services, software development, and fielding of products including biometrics and specialized products for the U.S. Federal Government.
Through years of active leadership in the business realm, Lyons has developed a keen insight into the challenges and opportunities associated with growth, particularly new ventures. An established and experienced leader in her field, she ardently believes that leadership at all organizational levels must be based on a set of clearly articulated and practiced core values and achieved through ongoing learning. Lyons believes her exposure to different executive leadership styles, corporate cultures, strategies, and risks makes her well suited for board service and gives her a perspective that is particularly valuable in an environment of acquisitions, mergers, and integration of organizations.
“As a unique, market-shaping organization that is unmatched in terms of its collective ability to be a pure-play modernization and technology solutions provider to the Federal Government and its wide-ranging missions, strong executive leadership and growth expertise are crucial to our continued success,” stated Octo CEO Mehul Sanghani. “Val’s active leadership will be an essential tool in the development and promotion of a culture of innovation and problem solving here at Octo. We’re thrilled to have her on board.”
